Local Businesses!

Advertise on this site!

You will have your own web page within this site but you can customise it to suit your business and we will do all that work for you.

Glynneath businesses will be charged at a low preferential rate.

Could you add something about our DAF project to the website please, see below:

The Glynneath Training Centre has recently become involved in a project that is funded from the ‘Deprived Area Funding’ scheme. The project aims:

“To aid people to move along the route to employment”.

We are concentrating on helping people from the eligible DAF ward of Blaengwrach but we won’t be turning anyone away if they need our help. The project aims to help people to:

• Be referred to other agencies, such as Workways, Future Jobs Fund, Want to Work etc.
• Move into training, be it training we offer at GTC or by sourcing other training such as Fork Lift Truck training.
• Move into a voluntary position.
• Have a work trial and guaranteed interview with a local employer.
• Move into a job.

The Centre has set up a vacancy board that is updated on a weekly basis, in conjunction with the Job Centre Plus. We can help with things like Job Search/CV production and interview guidance. If you would like to benefit from this free service contact Catherine Williams at the Centre on
01639 721772.

LOCAL REUSE/RECYCLE SHOP EXPANDED ONTO THE HIGH STREET

‘Revive’, the Glynneath Training Centre’s Charity shop, which is run by volunteers selling donated items, was re-opened by local celebrity – Ruth Maddoc. The shop has undergone a makeover and expansion thanks to funding from The Welsh Assembly Government and Environment Wales.

All income generated from the shop is used to help run the organisation, which is a Social Enterprise with charitable status. The newly expanded shop will offer local people an even wider economical choice – thus helping their purses and reducing the amount sent to landfill. Anyone wishing to volunteer at the shop contact Catherine Williams at the Centre on 01639 721772 or email glynneathtc@gmail.com

This is our new website, which is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government’s Community Toolkit Fund, we hope will become your local favourite.

Open day at GTC will be held this year on Wednesday 14th July 2010
