The Glynneath Training Centre is housed in the old Oddfellows School adjacent to the Co-operative Store in the centre of Glynneath. Enrolments stand in excess of 600 per year with many more on waiting lists.

The Glynneath Training Centre has recently been awarded £245,377 from the Big Lottery Fund ‘People and Places’:
To be spent over the next 3 years commencing in February, the funding will be used to develop a 3 year programme of exciting activities for all ages in the community. The aim of the project will be to:

Reduce the number of people that are economically inactive by raising their skills and confidence to seek work or volunteering.
- Help reduce isolation by encouraging more people to benefit from their social programme.
- Increase participation in community activities.
There will be an exciting range of activities taking place, including various events and fun days, a programme of Informal Learning, Health and Well-being package, workshops on managing your money better, confidence and skill building sessions.
