A variety of computer courses could be available in the computer suite at Blaengwrach Primary School, subject to demand. They could include:

PROVISIONAL COURSES TIME AND VENUE TO BE DECIDED

An exploration of the history, heritage and literature of Wales.

An introduction to the concept of sustainable living. How we can play our part (however small) in helping to preserve the world for future generations. Can lead to a HE Foundation Certificate in Sustainability.

Units include photography, photo-editing, digital illustration, animation, computer-based design, writing web pages

FINANCIAL iNFORMATION

The New Learning Network Phase 2 is a project
partly funded by the European Social Fund and aims to help people
living in Neath Port Talbot, who need extra help to gain skills for
work or to improve the skills they have to get a better job. There
may be help with the costs of the course, travel, child or dependent
care, books etc. You may be eligible for support if you answer yes to
one or more of the following:
you are a lone parent
your highest qualification is NVQ2 equivalent you have a physical or mental disability you are homeless or may become homeless you belong to an ethnic minority group you have or have had a drug or alcohol problem
you are an ex-offender you are a refugee or asylum seeker.

FEES
Fees for courses vary – all courses are low cost, many are free. For
information on fees and exemptions, please speak to a member of
staff. Examination fees may be charged in addition to course fees.
ALL courses will run subject to student numbers and funding.
Free services/support
Educational Guidance - The Centre has a fully qualified
guidance worker who can give impartial advice on courses and
course finance. A one-to-one appointment can be made for anyone
requiring it.

FLEXIBLE LEARNING

The Centre will be giving people the opportunity to study a variety of subjects at times and places to suit individual needs.

Learndirect offers a range of flexible computer courses, including ECDL, office skills and self development. learndirect courses are primarily online so you can work at your own pace from home, at work or in a learndirect centre.

Speak to a member of staff for further details. They will be happy advise you or to make an appointment for you with a Learndirect advisor.
